Sam started racing at the age of 13 on Reading velodrome. He progressed as a rider enjoying riding fixed over anything else. In 2017 before beginning university Sam started racing fixed gear crits. “I was trying to vary my racing from the time trialling that I’d spent most of my time training for at home and have been steadily progressing in the sport since then.”

Sam joined One Life Cycle at the end of the 2018 season after a solid season as a privateer.

Our 2019 season has really benefitted from having Sam. He has proved that he is a disciplined athlete that can do an amazing job for the team either working for himself or others. “This year has really been about building the team and working together to reach a level where we can compete at the international level, as well as pushing myself outside of my comfort zone for the good of myself and the team. With fixed gear racing I feel I’ve really found my niche in cycling, allowing me to combine my strengths on the bike and be involved in a welcoming international community.”

We look forward to watching Sam continually progress through the winter and onto 2020.
